Those kind of «boxes» where you put several hard drives inside and then connect this «box» to your computer The quote might be wrong I think that it's better to use for hardware RAID for redundancy. Later I've learned from my colleague (System Administrator) that USB protocol isn't great for RAID because «it does not guarantee that your drive will always be available for the computer». I tried to create software RAID 1 with MacOS Disk Utility but ended up having issues with RAID 1 Status for hard drives - sometimes disk status was «Rebuilding x.x%» and «Failed», then «Online» again. Yes, I have just a pair of hard drives with identical copies of the files. Thanks for your reply! That's a great question and suggestions!
